Donald Matheson is currently working in two areas: corpus-assisted discourse analysis of social media and the ethics of journalism in social media. Donald is the author of the books, Media Discourses: Analysing Media Texts and Digital War Reporting, and joint editor of Ethical Space: The International Journal of Communication Ethics.

While at the CFI, Donald will give a seminar, ‘Big data, little people: The case for connecting data back to the people it is about’, in which he discusses ways to use large datasets, particularly of social media and other digital traces left in online environments, in ways that respect local meanings and the interactions engaged in.
